Beach days at Porto San Giorgio20kms - Family day at Porto San Giorgio beach - 17 kms to long sandy beach, chalets offering clean beaches with a life guard, sun beds and umbrellas, nearly all with restaurants along the beach front.Chalet quadrifoglio offers a good family friendly service, with English speaking staff. Ask for the Tourist menu which has a good choice, a set menu is good value for money. This is a favourite for our family days out at the beach. Chalet Duilio has a large play ground for young kids, with beach volley ball and basketball for teenagers. Ideal for Toddlers with shallow bathing next to the marina. There are many more chalets to choose from offering water sports, boat hire or padloes. Also there are public beaches in between the chalets, however more so towards the Marina at south end of the beach. |
Horse riding in the local area,10-20 minute drive to three different centres: Horse riding lessons per hour, 2-4 hour short rides, whole day trekking ofapprox. 7 hours or a two day trekking to the foot of the Sibillini national park further information is available at the villa.Mule mountain rides is also possible and Horse and cart racing is also an enjoyable night out, just 10 minutes away in Monte Giorgio. |
Lakes and reservoirs30 minutes to a nature trail at lake San Ruffino - Take a half day around a man-made reservoir, offering beautiful relax scenery, listen to the sounds and smell the scents of nature. You willsee lizards, frogs, toads, dragon fly's, various kinds of bird's and perhaps a snake or a small deer, that are now being bred as part of a re-population programme. Take a picnic or have lunch at an Agriturismo beside the water, taste the local wild boar pasta or typical cured meats and cheeses from the inland area. There are two other lakes to discover, 'Fiastra' and 'Gerosa' and they are both an hours drive. 1 hour - Lago di Fiastra - you can hire padloes and canoes, or just relax by the water's edge or take a bracing swim in the cold yet clear water. It's lovely after a while. It's also a very popular spot for fishing, water sports, camping, families and walking around the lake. 1 hour - Lago di Gerosa - The lake has a grassy bank just off the main road, an ideal picnic spot. There are some nice walks and you'll be rewarded with lovely views of the lake and the valley. |

Local farms and animals If you like picnics you can visit a farm on the way and buy excellent local cheeses and cured meats for lunch in the local village of Belmonte Piceno. Whilst at the farm you can see and also get to touch some of the goats, sheep and cows. From the Villa you can take a 20 minute walk on quite back lanes to a small organic farm, where the children can see many different farm yard animals from chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, small wild boars, cows, donkeys, sheep and horses. |

Go karting 15 minutes from the villa there is a outdoor go- kart race track and mini moto track. Great fun for all age groups. You can also race under flood lights for some night time fun, with 3 catorgeries & engine size Karts for each level, height and age group. |

Medievil Entertainment & competitions Ascoli Piceno 'La Quintana' - jousting in Ascoli Piceno, held on the first Sunday of August. Urbino 'Festa del Duca' - to honour Duke Federico, held on the third Sunday in August. Cagli 'Palio dell'Oca' - medieval games to win a golden goose in mid-August. Mondavio 'Wild Boar Hunt' - a medieval chase in the square, held in mid-August. Fermo 'Cavalcatadellassunta' - horse racing, drummers, flag throwing, contests and medieval competitions in 15th C. costumes, held at the end of July/August each year. Treia 'Disfida del Bracciale' - ancient ball game played out on the first Sunday of August. |
