Le Marche - Northern border with the Republic of San Marino
![]() |
Republic of San Marino - The historic centre and Mount Titano covers over 55 ha, including Mount Titano and the historic city dates back to the foundation of the republic, as a city-state in the 13th century. San Marino is inscribed as a testimony to the continuity of a free republic since the Middle Ages. The inscribed city centre includes fortified towers, walls, gates and bastions, as well as a neo-classical Basilica (19th C.), 14th and 16th C. convents, the Palazzo Publico (19th C), as well as the Titano Theatre (18th C.) Thanks to its location on top of Mount Titano, it has not been affected by any surrounding urbanisation, remaining intact and well preserved. |
